These are my thoughts about St. George!

Disclaimer: Although some of these pictures look like they came straight from the 80's, I promise they were very recently taken. The vintage look is due to 1) the fact that they were taken with a disposable camera so they weren't stellar to begin with and 2) the scanner gives them a grainy look.

So the first exciting thing we did was go get ourselves some pedicures. We had planned to go on a hike or at least lay out in the sun, but the rainy/cloudy weather forced us to change our plans. After we'd picked up our trusty disposable camera, we noticed a nail shop and since I've never had a pedicure before, we decided to give it a try!

After we felt sufficiently pampered, we decided to head back to the hotel for some lunch. We'd already bought a jar of peanut butter and jelly (that's right, one jar, peanut butter and jelly- together) and some bread so we wouldn't have to eat out for every meal. I don't know if it was necessarily healthier, but it was definitely cheaper.

We took our combo-PB&J out of the fridge and used the only utensil we had (a plastic spoon) to dig in. At that point we realized 1)It probably doesn't belong in the fridge and 2) it was frozen. We set it down on the table to thaw and decided to have a cheesestick to curb our hunger. Cheesesticks also frozen. Along with everything else in the fridge.

We decided to go shopping at the outlet malls. We didn't really buy anything, but that's not really the important part of shopping. We found a store called Cowboys and Indians and found some pretty great things. Alissa even found a stick horse!

After shopping, we decided we were hungry (and why wouldn't we be? All our food at the hotel was frozen...). Since our stomachs were so empty, we did the only thing we could under the circumstances... we went to Olive Garden!

The food was great and we both ate more than we needed to, but that's what everyone does on vacation, right? The best part of the night though? Our server was a little bit non-attentive that night and didn't bring us our breadsticks until we were done eating. So Alissa did the only logical thing... she smuggled them into her purse.

Ok, we know we weren't really stealing them, because they were actually our breadsticks, but it was still an adventure and we, of course, thought it was much funnier than it actually was. We finished our weekend with some quality time in the hotel hot tub, a trip to a single's ward in St. George (which involved us getting lost and not even close to Dixie campus) and a very messy backseat. Apparently two girls living out of a car for a weekend can accumulate quite a chaotic scene.

Overall, great weekend and good times! It was so much fun to spend a girls weekend before Alissa gets married this summer. Even though it was short, it was an excellent way to kick off our 1st Spring Break!

  1. This is my thought about you blogging about a weekend with Alissa, but forgetting to blog about a week with me.

    Really?

:) I'm so glad you had fun. You work so hard that you deserve it. Miss you!!
