These are my thoughts on Locked Doors

Proposal:
If someone in the apartment is out on a date, don't lock the door.

Reasoning:
Rummaging around your purse for your keys gives a guy more time to work up the courage to make a move or ask you out again. If you like him, great! If you don't like him, not so great.

Theory:
Should you need to, you can always pretend to look for your keys, whether you actually need them or not.
You can't ever pretend that the door is unlocked when it isn't.

Solution:
Don't lock the door and let your roommate be the one who decides how long she stays on the doorstep.

  1. Problem: If your roommate is also leaving the apartment, leaving the door unlocked allows creepers to come in your house if they so desire, and it is worse to have a psycho in your home (or your possessions stolen) than have an awkward date ask you out again. :)

  2. I should have specified... The rule only applies with the roommates are home. :)
