These are my thoughts on Groundhog's Day

I didn't really know how to celebrate Groundhog's day. Mostly I didn't acknowledge that it was even a holiday. But I did try a writing activity with my kids today. I found a cute little groundhog poem that said "Wake up Mr. Groundhog! It's time to get out of bed! But when that silly hog woke up, he only saw his _______." The idea was for them to finish the poem with something that rhymes with 'bed.' As expected, most of my kids said 'head' or 'shed' or 'sled.' One got a little creative and wrote 'pencil lead.'
However, my very favorite was this:

"Wake up Mr. Groundhog! It's time to get out of bed! But when that silly hog woke up, he only saw his pets were all dead."

Have I mentioned lately that I love what I do?
